Adolph Rupp (September 2, 1901 – December 10, 1977) was a prominent American basketball coach and a pivotal figure in the history of college basketball. He is best known for his long tenure as the head coach of the University of Kentucky men's basketball team, where he served from 1930 to 1972. Under his leadership, the Wildcats became a powerhouse program, winning four NCAA Championships in 1948, 1949, 1951, and 1958.
Rupp was a visionary coach who was instrumental in advancing the game of basketball at the collegiate level. He was known for his innovative coaching strategies and his ability to recruit top talent, which contributed to the establishment of Kentucky as a national basketball dynasty.
