Adrian Dantley, born on February 28, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois, is a retired American professional basketball player renowned for his scoring ability and versatility on the court. He played college basketball at the University of Notre Dame, where he was a standout performer, leading the team in scoring and earning consensus All-American honors. Dantley was selected as the sixth overall pick in the 1976 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
Throughout his 15-season NBA career, Dantley played for several teams, most notably the Utah Jazz and the Detroit Pistons. He was a two-time NBA scoring champion, leading the league in points per game during the 1980-1981 and 1983-1984 seasons.
