Akihiko Nakaya, born on November 3, 1957, in Kōchi, Japan, is a retired Japanese Formula 1 driver known for his significant contributions to the sport during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He entered the world of motorsport at a young age, quickly establishing himself as a talented driver in various junior formula series before making his Formula 1 debut with the March team in 1977. Over the course of his career, Nakaya competed for several teams, including the notable Ralt and Osella teams, showcasing his skills through challenging racing conditions.
