Al Wolfson is a former professional basketball player known for his impactful career in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and later in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on June 15, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Wolfson showcased exceptional talent at the collegiate level while playing for the University of Illinois, where he earned All-American honors and helped lead his team to the NCAA tournament.
Wolfson was selected in the 1964 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, but he found significant success in the ABA with the Indiana Pacers. Over his six seasons in the ABA, he became renowned for his scoring ability and playmaking skills, earning multiple All-Star selections and contributing to the Pacers' championship victories in 1970 and 1972.
