Biography
Alex Auld, born on January 7, 1981, in Stonewall, Manitoba, Canada, is a retired professional ice hockey goaltender. He began his junior career with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League (WHL) before being drafted in the second round, 40th overall, by the Florida Panthers in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Auld made his NHL debut during the 2003-04 season and quickly established himself as a reliable goaltender.
Throughout his career, Auld played for several NHL teams, including the Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, and the Ottawa Senators. He had his most notable season in 2005-06, where he played 53 games for the Canucks, recording a career-best goals-against average of 2.90. Auld was known for his strong work ethic and ability to handle the puck, which earned him respect in the league.
