Alex Webster (born April 19, 1931) is a former professional American football player known for his career as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). Webster played college football at the University of Georgia, showcasing his athletic skill and earning All-SEC honors. He was selected in the 3rd round of the 1953 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, where he would spend the majority of his playing career.
During his time with the Giants from 1953 to 1964, Webster achieved notable success, including playing in three Pro Bowls and contributing to the team's offensive strategies. He was a key player during the Giants' championship run in 1956, which culminated in a victory over the Chicago Bears in the NFL Championship Game. Webster's versatility as both a runner and receiver allowed him to excel, collecting over 4,500 total yards during his tenure with the team.
After retiring from playing, Webster transitioned into coaching and left a lasting impact on the sport. His influence extended beyond the field as he mentored several future NFL stars.
