Alexander Semin is a former professional ice hockey winger from Russia, born on March 3, 1984, in Krasnoyarsk. He was selected by the Washington Capitals as the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Known for his exceptional scoring ability and offensive instincts, Semin quickly established himself as a notable player in the NHL.
During his tenure in the NHL, which spanned from 2003 to 2016, Semin played for the Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, and briefly for the Montreal Canadiens.
