Alexei Kovalev, born on February 24, 1973, in Tver, Russia, is a former professional ice hockey forward renowned for his dynamic play and exceptional skill. He was selected by the New York Rangers as the 15th overall pick in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of a distinguished career in the National Hockey League (NHL). Kovalev made his NHL debut in the 1992-93 season and quickly established himself as a key contributor with a unique blend of speed, size, and puck handling ability.
Throughout his 17-season NHL career, Kovalev played for several teams, including the New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Montreal Canadiens, and Ottawa Senators, amassing over 1,000 points.
