Alexei Tertyshny, born on March 27, 1977, in St. Petersburg, Russia, was a prominent ice hockey player known for his skill as a center. He began his professional career in the Russian Superleague, where he garnered attention for his offensive capabilities and playmaking. Tertyshny demonstrated exceptional talent that eventually led to his selection in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.
Tertyshny made his NHL debut in the 1997-1998 season, showcasing his prowess on North American ice. He played a total of 36 games in the league over two seasons before returning to Europe, where he continued to perform at a high level in various leagues, including the Russian Superleague and the German Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
