Alexei Zhamnov, born on October 1, 1970, in Novokuznetsk, Russia, is a former professional ice hockey player renowned for his offensive skills and versatility on the ice. He began his career in the Soviet Union, playing for the HC Metallurg Novokuznetsk before making his move to the Western leagues. Zhamnov was selected by the Winnipeg Jets in the 3rd round of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, marking the beginning of his successful career in the National Hockey League (NHL).
During his time in the NHL, Zhamnov played for several teams, including the Winnipeg Jets, Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, and the New York Rangers. He achieved significant success, including being named an NHL All-Star in 1996.
