Alexei Zhitnik is a former Ukrainian ice hockey defenseman, born on October 10, 1972, in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He began his professional career in the Soviet Union, playing for various clubs in the Soviet league, most notably for Kharkiv's local team before moving to North America in the 1990s. Zhitnik quickly established himself as a formidable player, known for his strong defensive skills and ability to contribute offensively.
In the National Hockey League (NHL), Zhitnik played for several teams, including the New Jersey Devils, Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, and Philadelphia Flyers.
