Andrea Barzagli, born on May 8, 1981, in Fiesole, Italy, is a retired professional footballer known for his outstanding defensive capabilities. Primarily a centre-back, Barzagli began his career at the youth level with A.C. Milan before making his professional debut with the Italian club Pistoiese in 1999. He later played for teams like Palermo and Wolfsburg, where he won the Bundesliga title in 2009.
