Andy Ganteaume, born on January 22, 1921, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, was a distinguished West Indian cricketer renowned for his batting prowess. He made his Test debut for the West Indies against England in 1948 at just 27 years old. Ganteaume is particularly remembered for his remarkable performance in his maiden Test match, scoring 112 runs, which made him one of the few players to achieve a century on debut.
Throughout his international career, Ganteaume played a total of two Test matches, with his second appearance coming against India in 1952.
