Annika Sörenstam, born on October 9, 1970, in Bro, Sweden, is a retired professional golfer widely regarded as one of the greatest female golfers in the history of the sport. She turned professional in 1992 and joined the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour, where she quickly garnered attention for her exceptional skills and competitive spirit. Sörenstam's early career successes established her as a formidable player, culminating in her first major victory at the U.S. Women's Open in 1995.
Throughout her career, Sörenstam achieved numerous accolades, including 10 major championships and a record total of 72 LPGA Tour victories.
