Anshuman Gaekwad, born on September 23, 1952, in Baroda, India, is a former Indian cricketer and coach, widely recognized for his contributions to Indian cricket during the 1980s. A right-handed batsman, Gaekwad made his Test debut for India in 1975 and went on to play 40 Test matches, amassing over 1,800 runs, including four centuries and nine fifties. His notable performances include a pivotal innings against the West Indies, which helped solidify his reputation as a reliable middle-order batsman.
In addition to his Test career, Gaekwad represented India in 88 One Day Internationals (ODIs) from 1980 to 1989, where he scored more than 2,000 runs.
