Anurag Thakur, born on October 24, 1974, in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, India, is a former cricketer who played for the Indian national team during the late 1990s. A right-handed batsman and medium-fast bowler, he made his debut for the national side in 1998, participating in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches. Although his international career was brief, Thakur was known for his competitive spirit and sportsmanship on the field.
After retiring from professional cricket, Thakur transitioned into administrative roles within the sport. He served as the Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) and later became the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from 2016 to 2017.
