Art Briles, born December 3, 1955, in Duluth, Minnesota, is a former American football coach and player, best known for his tenure as the head coach of the Baylor University football team from 2008 to 2015. He played college football as a quarterback at the University of Houston, where he was known for his leadership and offensive acumen on the field. Briles began his coaching career in high school before moving into college football, where he gained recognition for his dynamic offensive strategies.
During his time at Baylor, Briles transformed the football program, leading the Bears to their first Big 12 Conference Championship in 2013 and achieving a ranking as high as No. 4 in the nation.
