Biography
Arthur Cox was an English cricketer born on January 1, 1907. He was primarily known for his exceptional skills as a wicketkeeper and middle-order batsman. Cox made his first-class debut for Lancashire in 1926 and quickly established himself as a key player in the team.
Throughout his career, Cox was instrumental in Lancashire's successes, contributing to the team winning the County Championship in 1928, 1930, and 1934. He also represented England in international cricket, earning his Test cap in 1929 against the West Indies. Over the course of his career, he played 13 Test matches, accumulating a total of 391 runs, with a notable highest score of 106 against South Africa in 1935.
Cox retired from first-class cricket in 1936, leaving behind a legacy as one of the prominent cricketers of his era. After his retirement, he remained involved in the cricketing community and was respected for his insights and contributions to the game.
