Biography
Asad Rauf, born on May 12, 1956, in Lahore, Pakistan, is a former international cricketer who played as a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler. He made his Test debut for the Pakistan national team in 1978 against New Zealand and played in a total of 70 Test matches, amassing over 2,800 runs. Rauf was known for his elegant batting style and his ability to adapt to different formats of the game, contributing significantly to Pakistan's cricketing successes during the late 1970s and 1980s.
In addition to his Test career, Asad Rauf also represented Pakistan in One Day Internationals (ODIs), featuring in 128 matches and scoring more than 2,500 runs. His ODI career spanned from 1985 to 1996, during which he was part of the squad that won the 1992 Cricket World Cup.
