B. W. Wijetunge, born on April 11, 1969, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a former professional cricketer who represented the Sri Lankan national team during the late 1980s and early 1990s. A right-handed batsman and occasional off-spin bowler, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against India on July 31, 1989. Wijetunge became known for his solid technique and composure at the crease, contributing significantly to the team's development during a pivotal era for Sri Lankan cricket.
