Barrett Ruud, born on May 20, 1983, in Lincoln, Nebraska, is a former American football linebacker who had a notable career in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Nebraska, where he earned All-Big 12 honors and showcased his skills with exceptional tackling ability and field awareness. After being selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ruud established himself as a key defensive player.
During his six-season tenure with the Buccaneers, Ruud emerged as a leading tackler and was known for his intelligence on the field. He recorded a career-high 170 tackles in the 2007 season, earning him a reputation as one of the league's top linebackers.
