Bernie Kosar, born on November 25, 1963, in Boardman, Ohio, is a former professional American football quarterback known for his impactful career in the National Football League (NFL). After a standout college football career at the University of Miami, where he led the Hurricanes to their first national championship in 1983, Kosar was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft. His strong arm and precise passing ability quickly established him as a prominent player in the league.
Kosar played the majority of his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, where he became known for his impressive performances, particularly in the postseason. He led the team to multiple playoff appearances and reached the AFC Championship Game in 1986, 1987, and 1989.
