Bill Peacock is a retired professional basketball player known for his outstanding contributions to the sport during the 1970s and 1980s. Born on July 12, 1954, in Boston, Massachusetts, he played college basketball at the University of Kansas, where he earned All-American honors and led the Jayhawks to the NCAA tournament. After declaring for the NBA draft, Peacock was selected in the first round by the Chicago Bulls in 1976.
Throughout his nine-season NBA career, Peacock established himself as a versatile forward with exceptional scoring ability and defensive prowess. He played for the Chicago Bulls, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the New Jersey Nets, earning multiple All-Star selections and being named to the All-Defensive Team. His most notable achievement came in 1982 when he helped the Trail Blazers secure their first NBA Championship.
