Billy Ray Smith, Sr. (born January 27, 1935) is a former professional American football player known for his role as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Smith played college football at the University of Arkansas, where he was recognized for his exceptional defensive skills and athleticism. He was selected in the first round of the 1957 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Colts.
