Bob Trumpy, born on March 6, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, is a former American football tight end who had a successful career in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Cincinnati, where he distinguished himself as a talented player before being selected in the third round of the 1968 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Trumpy spent the majority of his professional career with the Bengals, where he played from 1968 to 1977.
During his time in the NFL, Trumpy emerged as one of the premier tight ends of his era, earning a reputation for his ability to both block and catch passes effectively. He was particularly noted for his contributions during the Bengals' 1970 season, where he was instrumental in the team's offensive strategies.
