Biography
Brian Cushing, born on January 24, 1987, in New Jersey, is a former professional American football linebacker who played for the Houston Texans in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Southern California (USC), where he was a standout player and part of the team that won the 2004 BCS National Championship. Cushing was selected by the Texans with the 15th overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
Cushing made an immediate impact in the NFL, earning the 2009 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award after recording 133 tackles, 2 sacks, and 4 interceptions during his inaugural season. Throughout his career, he became known for his aggressive playing style and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2011 after posting a career-high 142 tackles. Cushing's contributions were vital in helping the Texans achieve multiple playoff appearances during his tenure with the team.
