Brian Sipe, born on August 8, 1949, in San Diego, California, is a former professional American football player who played as a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he distinguished himself as a standout player, earning All-American honors and leading his team to significant victories. Sipe was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 13th round of the 1972 NFL Draft, beginning a career that would solidify his status as one of the franchise's notable quarterbacks.
Sipe's most prominent tenure was with the Cleveland Browns, where he played from 1974 to 1983. His breakthrough season came in 1980 when he was named the NFL Most Valuable Player, having thrown for over 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns.
