Byron Maxwell, born on February 23, 1988, in Sweeney, Texas, is a former American football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Miami, where he contributed significantly to the Hurricanes' defense. After going undrafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, Maxwell was signed by the Seattle Seahawks, marking the beginning of his professional football career.
Maxwell rose to prominence during his tenure with the Seahawks, particularly in the 2013 season when he was part of a defense that helped the team secure a victory in Super Bowl XLVIII.
