Cecil Thompson was an English cricketer born on August 17, 1890, in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler, known for his versatility on the field. Thompson made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire in 1910 and quickly established himself as a key player for the county team.
Over the course of his career, Thompson played 358 first-class matches, amassing over 12,000 runs and taking more than 1,200 wickets.
