Biography
Chanaka Withanage is a former Sri Lankan cricketer born on June 26, 1976. He played as a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm off-spin bowler. Withanage made his international debut in an One Day International (ODI) match against Zimbabwe in 1998, quickly establishing himself as a valuable player within the national team setup.
Throughout his career, Withanage participated in 12 ODIs, where he scored a total of 338 runs, with a highest score of 71. Although his Test career was limited to a single match in 1999, his contributions in domestic cricket, particularly in first-class and List A formats, were significant, showcasing his versatility and skill as a cricketer. He represented several domestic teams, including the Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club.
