Chandika Hathurusingha, born on September 13, 1968, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, is a former cricketer and prominent cricket coach. A right-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler, Hathurusingha represented the Sri Lankan national team from 1988 to 1999, participating in 26 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 6 Test matches. He was part of the squad during a transformative period for Sri Lankan cricket, which ultimately led to the nation's victory in the 1996 Cricket World Cup.
Following his playing career, Hathurusingha transitioned into coaching, where he gained recognition for his strategic acumen and player development skills. He took on significant roles with various teams, including serving as the head coach of the Sri Lankan national team from 2013 to 2014, during which he helped to improve the team's performance on the international stage.
