Biography
Charles Bulpett was an English cricketer born on August 18, 1852, in Marylebone, London. He was primarily known as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Bulpett played a significant role in domestic cricket during the late 19th century, representing teams like Middlesex and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
Bulpett made his first-class debut in 1873 and became noted for his all-round capabilities. He participated in 144 first-class matches, amassing over 4,000 runs and taking more than 200 wickets, which established him as a valuable player in the sport during his era. His notable performances included a high score of 146 runs and best bowling figures of 7 wickets for 44 runs in a single innings.
Although he was active during a time when cricket was evolving, Charles Bulpett's contributions to the game have not been forgotten. He is regarded as a competent all-rounder who helped shape the foundation of county cricket in England. Bulpett passed away on January 29, 1920, leaving behind a legacy as one of the notable cricketers of his time.
