Cliff Stoudt, born on March 27, 1955, in Youngwood, Pennsylvania, is a former professional American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL). He attended the University of Maryland, where he began his collegiate football career before being selected in the 5th round of the 1977 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Stoudt is best known for his tenure with the Steelers, where he contributed to the team during a successful era that included winning Super Bowl XIV.
Stoudt's professional career spanned from 1977 to 1987, during which he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Los Angeles Express of the United States Football League (USFL), and the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. As a backup quarterback with the Steelers, he played a key role in the team's success, particularly during Super Bowl seasons, showcasing his skills in high-pressure situations.
