Clint Longley, born on July 28, 1952, in McCook, Nebraska, is a former professional American football quarterback. He rose to prominence in the National Football League (NFL) after being selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1974 NFL Draft. Longley is best known for his impressive performance in the 1974 Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Redskins, where he replaced an injured Roger Staubach and led the Cowboys to a dramatic come-from-behind victory.
Longley's NFL career, albeit brief, showcased his potential as an impactful player. He played for the Dallas Cowboys from 1974 to 1976 and had a notable stint with the San Diego Chargers in 1977.
