Courtney Walsh, born on October 30, 1962, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a former West Indies cricketer renowned for his exceptional skills as a fast bowler. He made his Test debut for the West Indies in 1984 and became one of the leading bowlers in the history of cricket. Over his distinguished career, Walsh established himself as a key player in a dominant West Indies team during the 1980s and 1990s.
Walsh is best known for his remarkable record of 519 Test wickets, making him the highest wicket-taker for the West Indies at the time of his retirement in 2001. He was celebrated for his longevity in the game, being one of the few bowlers to excel in both Test and One Day International formats.
