Dan Persa, born on November 20, 1988, in Downers Grove, Illinois, is a former American football quarterback who gained recognition during his collegiate career at Northwestern University. He played for the Northwestern Wildcats from 2007 to 2011, where he set multiple school records, including for career passing yards and completions. Persa became known for his exceptional accuracy and leadership on the field, culminating in a celebrated junior season where he led the Wildcats to an eight-win campaign.
In 2010, Persa suffered a significant Achilles tendon injury that sidelined him for part of the season, but he made a remarkable comeback in 2011. That year, he threw for 2,600 yards, 19 touchdowns, and completed over 70% of his passes, showcasing his resilience and skill. He earned numerous accolades, including being named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and finishing as a candidate for several national awards during his time at Northwestern.
After college, Persa was not selected in the 2012 NFL Draft but subsequently signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent.
