Danny White, born on February 9, 1952, in Mesa, Arizona, is a former American football quarterback known for his notable career in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football at Arizona State University, White was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the third round of the 1974 NFL Draft. He initially served as a backup to Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach before taking over as the starter in the early 1980s.
During his tenure with the Cowboys from 1976 to 1988, White led the team to multiple playoff appearances, including three consecutive NFC Championship games from 1980 to 1982. He was recognized for his strong leadership and offensive skills, culminating in two Super Bowl appearances, although the Cowboys ultimately fell short in each attempt.
