Darrell Russell, born on May 27, 1976, was a prominent American football player who played as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected second overall in the 1997 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders after a standout collegiate career at the University of Southern California (USC). Known for his exceptional size and formidable athleticism, Russell quickly established himself as a key player on the Raiders' defensive line.
During his NFL career, which spanned from 1997 to 2004, Russell earned a reputation as a disruptive force, recording 23.5 sacks and 185 tackles.
