Dave Doeren, born on December 3, 1971, in Shawano, Wisconsin, is a former professional American football player and current college football coach. Doeren played college football at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a standout linebacker. After college, he transitioned into coaching and developed a reputation for building competitive programs.
Doeren began his coaching career at the University of Wisconsin as a graduate assistant, progressing through various coaching positions including defensive coordinator at several institutions. He gained prominence as the head coach at Northern Illinois University from 2011 to 2012, where he led the team to a MAC Championship and a bowl game appearance. In 2013, he took over as head coach at North Carolina State University, where he achieved significant success, including multiple bowl game appearances and notable victories against top-ranked opponents.
