Biography
Del Shofner, born on December 11, 1934, in Baird, Texas, was a prominent professional American football player. An exceptional wide receiver, Shofner played college football at the University of Southern California, where he distinguished himself with his speed and receiving ability. He was selected in the first round of the 1956 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, which marked the beginning of a notable career in the National Football League (NFL).
Throughout his career, Shofner played for the New York Giants from 1956 to 1963 and then for the Los Angeles Rams from 1964 to 1966. He was recognized for his explosive playing style, earning three Pro Bowl selections and being named an All-Pro twice during his tenure.
