Derrick Shepard, born on January 22, 1964, is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) primarily during the late 1980s and early 1990s. After a standout collegiate career at the University of Kansas, where he exhibited exceptional speed and agility, Shepard was selected in the fifth round of the 1987 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. He quickly made a name for himself as a reliable target in the Jets’ passing game.
