Des Headland, born on January 21, 1981, in Western Australia, is a retired Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL) primarily for the Brisbane Lions and the Fremantle Dockers. He was recruited as the third overall pick in the 1998 AFL Draft and made his debut for the Brisbane Lions and quickly established himself as a talented midfielder known for his agility and skill. During his time with the Lions, Headland was part of a successful era, contributing to the team's premiership victories in 2001, 2002, and 2003.
In 2004, Headland transferred to the Fremantle Dockers, where he continued to showcase his abilities and versatility on the field.
