Biography
Dilip Doshi is a former Indian cricketer born on December 22, 1947. A left-arm spinner, he made significant contributions to Indian cricket during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Doshi debuted for the Indian national team in 1979 and played a total of 33 Test matches, where he claimed 114 wickets at an average of 30.38.
Throughout his career, Doshi was known for his effective slow left-arm orthodox bowling and the ability to extract turn from pitches. He achieved his personal best Test figures of 6/40 against Australia in 1980, showcasing his skill on an international level. Additionally, he played 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and was part of India's squad during the inaugural World Cup in 1975.
After retiring from international cricket, Doshi continued to influence the game as a coach and commentator. His legacy is remembered not only for his contributions on the field but also for his role in nurturing young talent in Indian cricket.
