Donald Igwebuike, born on December 27, 1960, in Enugu, Nigeria, is a former professional American football player who gained prominence as a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Notre Dame, where he became known for his precision and reliability on field goals. Igwebuike entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 1985.
Igwebuike began his professional career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played from 1985 to 1988, becoming the team's first Nigerian-born player. He later spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers, and he is particularly noted for setting a franchise record of 94.7% field goal accuracy during his tenure with the Buccaneers. Over his career, Igwebuike converted 183 field goals and scored over 750 points, establishing himself as a noteworthy kicker of his era.
