Donald McKechnie, born on March 23, 1944, in New Zealand, was a prominent cricketer known for his contributions to the New Zealand national team during the 1970s. A right-handed batsman and occasional medium-pace bowler, McKechnie made his first-class debut for Canterbury in 1965 and went on to establish himself as a reliable performer in domestic cricket. He earned his place on the New Zealand national team and made his Test debut in 1973 against India.
