Doug Betters, born on June 11, 1956, in the United States, is a former professional American football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the 1978 NFL Draft after a standout college career at the University of Nevada, Reno. Betters played most notably for the Dolphins, where he became known for his strong defensive skills and impactful plays.
During his tenure with the Dolphins from 1978 to 1983, Betters was a key player in the team's formidable defense, contributing to their success in multiple seasons. He was part of the team that reached Super Bowl XVI in 1982, where the Dolphins faced the San Francisco 49ers.
