Edward "Ed" White, born on April 4, 1947, in San Diego, California, is a former professional American football offensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL). After attending the University of California, Berkeley, White was selected in the third round of the 1969 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He quickly established himself as a key player on the Vikings' offensive line, known for his strength and technique.
Throughout his 15-season NFL career, White played for the Minnesota Vikings (1969–1974) and the San Diego Chargers (1975–1987). He earned five Pro Bowl selections and was named a First-Team All-Pro twice, solidifying his reputation as one of the premier guards during his era. White was a member of the Vikings team that appeared in four Super Bowls, contributing to their offensive success during the 1970s.
