Emanuel Steward (July 7, 1944 – October 25, 2012) was an influential American boxing trainer and commentator, best known for his work with numerous world champions. He was born in Bottom Creek, West Virginia, and later moved to Detroit, Michigan, where he developed a passion for boxing in his youth. Steward gained recognition early in his career as a trainer for the Kronk Gym, which became a breeding ground for top-tier boxing talent.
Over the course of his career, Steward trained several notable fighters, including Thomas Hearns, Oscar De La Hoya, and Wladimir Klitschko.
