Ernest Aughburns is a retired professional basketball athlete known for his exceptional skills as a shooting guard. Born on March 15, 1985, in Atlanta, Georgia, he attended the University of North Carolina, where he gained recognition for his scoring ability and defensive prowess. During his college career, Aughburns led the Tar Heels to an NCAA Championship in 2006 and was named to the All-ACC First Team in his senior year.
Following his collegiate success, Aughburns was selected 15th overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. Over his 12-year professional career, he played for multiple teams, including the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers, earning two All-Star selections and being named to the All-NBA Defensive Team twice.
