Etan Thomas, born on April 1, 1978, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a former professional basketball player who played as a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball at Syracuse University, where he was part of the team that won the 2003 NCAA Championship. Thomas was selected in the first round of the 2000 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks but was traded to the Washington Wizards shortly thereafter, where he spent the majority of his career.
During his time in the NBA, Thomas was known for his shot-blocking ability and rebounding skills. He recorded a career-high average of 8.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game during the 2003-2004 season. Over the course of his career, he played in 451 regular-season games and made a significant impact as a role player, contributing to the Wizards' postseason appearances.
